By: Maryton

There are a wide variety of bits and strips to use for different applications and finishes. Regular practice of using different electric nail drill tips provides valuable experience on how they work.

However, do you know how to use electric nail drill bits on natural nails? After all, natural nails are relatively fragile and can cause serious damage if you are not careful. Try using an extra fine diamond strip or silicone sanding strip to shape natural nails. This is the best way to gently shape natural nails.

The first step is to slowly and carefully push back the cuticle. It is essential to get rid of dead skin before moving on to the rest of the nail. While working on your natural nail, keep your drill at a speed between 2,500 and 6,000 RPM. Anything faster may damage or crack the nail surface. Keep the bit flat to the nail as you work.

Hold your drill in a horizontal position like you would hold a pencil while filing. This allows for the smallest movements using your index finger to control the drilling direction. Move the drill from side to side of the nail in slow circular motions.
