What is a UV nail lamp?

By: Maryton

A UV nail lamp is also often called a nail dryer. The term “nail dryer” can be confusing, however, as it suggests that semi-permanent polish or other gels air dry instead of curing. Today, the nail supply expert Maryton will tell you what is a UV nail lamp. Keep reading!

A UV nail lamp is an ultraviolet emitting lamp that catalyzes gel nail products. A good nail lamp is therefore necessary for semi-permanent varnish, gel and acrylic gel, but not for acrylic products. The lamp initiates a polymerization process in a gel product, which causes the gel to harden.

UV nail lamps are specially designed to emit only the UV wavelength necessary to trigger the curing process. The process of curing nail products is also known as curing. During this process, the nail product molecules join together to form long chains. The longer the chains, the more advanced the hardening.

Always be sure to observe the time specified by the manufacturer, because you can’t tell yourself whether the product is properly catalyzed. In addition, I also advise you to invest in some professional manicure sets to care for your nails.
