What Happened When I Tried This Crazy Instagram Eyeliner Trend IRL

By: fashiontip.xyz

Whether on clothes or tablecloths, scalloped hems are cute, flirty and super ladylike. This summer, we’ll definitely see them everywhere from accessories to dresses — but what about on your face? Jennifer Gonzalez thinks it works. The makeup artist and YouTube vlogger calls it “bubble liner” but the look is the same as the scalloped hem on those cute shorts you just picked up — graceful yet graphic lines.

While the look seems really complicated to pull off, it’s actually pretty easy, even easier than your normal cat eye. All you need is eyeliner. Yup, that’s it.

STEP 1: LINE LID OF TUBE AND PRESS TO EYELID

First, you use liquid eyeliner to line the edge of an eyeliner cap. While Jennifer used gel liner for her look, I found it didn’t work very well for me and used Rimmel London Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Liner ($6). Press the eyeliner tube along the lash line like a stamp. Add more liner to the tube as needed.

STEP 2: COLOR BETWEEN THE LINES

Use your eyeliner to fill in the scalloped lines and add a cat eye.

STEP 3: TIDY UP THE LINES

Clean up any mistakes with a tissue or a foundation brush with a little foundation on it. And you’re done! I loved this look and so did my friends on Facebook and Instagram.

Would you try out bubble eyeliner?
